A New Life in Every Thread: ZAZI x I Was a Sari
This season, our Summer 2025 collection is stitched with more than just thread—it’s woven with stories of reinvention, resilience, and radiant color.
For SS25, ZAZI proudly collaborates with I Was a Sari, a Mumbai-based social enterprise that transforms pre-loved saris into beautiful new garments while uplifting the women who craft them. In every ZAZI dress this season, you’ll find the vibrant whispers of India’s textile heritage, reborn through the hands of local artisans and mothers turned makers.
Each piece in the collection is crafted from upcycled saris. These silken remnants, once adorning women across India in moments of celebration and everyday beauty, are now stitched into flowing dresses, each telling its own story of transformation. No two are the same—just like the women who wear them.
Our partnership with I Was a Sari is rooted in a shared belief: that fashion can be a force for good. Founded in 2013, I Was a Sari has been rewriting narratives—creating livelihoods for women from low-income communities by training them in artisan skills and sustainable production. Their collaboration with Gucci’s Equilibrium platform further echoes the global power of their mission—bringing Italian luxury houses and Indian craftsmanship into a meaningful dialogue.
At ZAZI, we believe in fashion that connects—across continents, across cultures, and across time. This collection is a love letter to circularity, to craft, and to the women who make our clothes with dignity and pride.
From the hands of Mumbai’s artisans to your wardrobe, our SS25 dresses carry the stories of many. Wear them as a celebration of sisterhood, sustainability, and style with soul.
