The ZAZI Avani Set, named after the Hindi word for “Earth,” is a beautifully crafted two-piece ensemble that blends effortless femininity with modern bohemian style. Designed for sun-soaked days, summer vacations, resort wear, and warm evening gatherings, this versatile set offers comfort, elegance, and timeless craftsmanship.

Handmade in India using the ancient art of Ajrakh block printing, each piece showcases a centuries-old textile tradition originating from the Kutch region of India. This intricate process combines hand block printing and natural resist-dyeing techniques, creating unique patterns rich in heritage and artisanal detail.

Crafted from breathable 100% cotton, the Avani Set features an updated halter-neck top with adjustable back ties and a flowing maxi skirt with a smocked waistband for a comfortable, flexible fit across multiple sizes.

ARTISANAL NOTE

In 1994, Nivedita Banerji started Kumbaya as a stitching centre in a remote village in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh. Today, over 100 women from marginalised communities work in Kumbaya Producer Company Ltd, where employment is guaranteed for 300 days a year. 

Banerji says nothing is considered waste at Kumbaya, with leftover waste being reused to make another garment besides creating sustainable fabrics. “We have always re-used dead stock discarded by industrial fabric units and bought hand-woven and other artisanal cotton fabric made by skilled craftspeople across the country. I want to make Kumbaya work more on circular fashion and design,” she adds.

  • Due to the hand dyed and handwoven nature of the fabric, there might be color and motif variations making each piece one of a kind. 
  • Protect from heavy rain or heat. Should it become wet, we advise to air dry. 
  • Washing by hand is advised to maintain quality of thread and colour.
