Co-created with our Peruvian artisan collective based in Chinchero, Cusco, this short coat spotlights their Andean iconography called ‘Loraypo’. Its name is derived from a medicinal plant that grows in their fields. The vertical pattern includes symbols that represent the tool they use to plow their fields, the lagunas that surround their village, and the highest mountain on their land.

ARTISANAL NOTE

ZAZI has partnered with an artisan collective in Chinchero, Cusco. At the heart of the collective is Norberta Auccacusi Huamán, who leads a circle of women aged 17 to 54. They preserve their ancient crafts of weaving, knitting, crocheting, and natural dying. This is the first time that the women are working with an international brand and the first time that ZAZI is building a production chain in Peru. Together, we are embarking on a new chapter for artisanal production.

ZAZI has partnered with an artisan collective in Chinchero, Cusco. At the heart of the collective is Norberta Auccacusi Huamán, who leads a circle of women aged 17 to 54. They preserve their ancient crafts of weaving, knitting, crocheting, and natural dying. This is the first time that the women are working with an international brand and the first time that ZAZI is building a production chain in Peru. Materials and care

The exterior fabric is handwoven using an ancient back strap loom technique. Due to the nature of woven fabric, it is more delicate. Avoid coming in contact with sharp jewelry that may pull at its threads.

To extend the life of this coat, we recommend:
•⁠ ⁠Dry clean or hand wash
•⁠ ⁠Hand wash with cold water and mild shampoo
•⁠ ⁠Soak for 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly
•⁠ ⁠Lay flat to dry on a towel
•⁠ ⁠Steam vertically
•⁠ ⁠Do not tumble dry
•⁠ ⁠Do not iron
•⁠ ⁠Do not bleach
