Made For a woman
Founded in Madagascar in 2019, Made For A Woman has grown into the country’s first woman-led social enterprise in fashion, redefining luxury through dignity, transparency, and human impact.
Today, Made For A Woman is a community of more than 900 artisans, 91% of whom are women, many rebuilding their lives after extreme vulnerability.
Designed as a long-term ecosystem rather than a traditional production model, the company goes beyond fair employment to provide access to healthcare, childcare, education, and psychosocial support, creating lasting stability and opportunity.
At the heart of Made For A Woman is a commitment to rebuilding the fashion supply chain itself, making traceability, visibility, and accountability essential rather than optional.
By working with locally sourced raphia, the company is positioning Madagascar as a global reference for high-value, responsible craftsmanship, and is currently the only company in the country to hold both a WFTO verification and a B-Corp certification.
Through its work, Made For A Woman is positioning fashion as a force for regeneration, where value is measured not by status, but by its impact on people and ecosystems.
